The 1954 Project

Catalytic funding and collective support for nonprofit education leaders committed to Black students and communities.

$1 million unrestricted grants to leaders transforming education.

Through The 1954 Project, we invest in nonprofit education leaders and their organizations with unrestricted capital, leadership support, and membership in a national network of innovators. As Network Members, Luminaries join a community of peers, access coaching and capacity-building resources, and gain a platform to amplify their work over a three-year journey.
