Meet the Leader

Markus Flynn is the Executive Director of Black Men Teach, a nonprofit dedicated to increasing the number of Black male educators in elementary schools. He leads innovative efforts to recruit, prepare, place, and retain teachers, starting with young men in high school and supporting them throughout their careers. A recognized leader in educational equity, Markus builds cross-sector partnerships to transform outcomes for Black boys and ensure they see themselves reflected in the classroom.

About the Organization

Black Men Teach is a Twin Cities-based nonprofit increasing the number of Black male elementary teachers. We backbone a coalition that provides the support, resources, and community needed for Black male educators to thrive and lead in the classroom.
